The webinar “Life Cycle Assessment and sustainability communication” was held on April 12th, during which several speakers took part, including Serena L’Orfano, Head of Sustainability Schemes of Istituto Italiano dei Plastici.

The webinar, organized by Cesap in collaboration with Istituto Italiano dei Plastici, has met with considerable success: more than 120 members with an extraordinary participation in terms of numbers to demonstrate the extreme relevance of the topic! Sustainability has become more than ever a strategic factor for all sectors: the importance that consumers and customers attribute to the theme of sustainable development is an essential driver for companies.

Precisely these last ones have shown the most lively interest: in fact, the questions asked by the participants were very numerous, in relation to specific cases with immediate practical implications.

How can I evaluate my current product from an environmental perspective? How are benefits or aggravated environmental impacts analyzed in advance by designing material substitutions? Have any studies been carried out on products similar to mine? How does a sustainability communication project develop?

It is not easy to summarize in a few lines the complexity and breadth of the questions posed by the participants: doing more for the environment and doing it better was the main theme of the various interventions, while the main interest was shown towards the modalities of application of the Life Cycle Assessment tool in its own business reality. We tried to give an answer to the end of the webinar, with the awareness that the limited time available would not have allowed a level of detail commensurate with the different cases.

To this end, we invite you to participate in the course “Life Cycle Assessment and sustainability communication tools” scheduled for May 28th and 29th, in which, in addition to illustrating the fundamental steps for the development of an LCA study, examples of application of real cases and projects for the development of related communication strategies.
